Although antisemitism research is urgently needed nowadays, it is severely underfunded – both in the United Kingdom and in Germany. An important reason for this situation are intra-academic conflicts in which current forms of antisemitism – such as antizionism – are denied. First, Prof. David Hirsh will give an overview of how antizionist attitudes within British academia confront serious research on antisemitism. Afterwards, Ronja Hesse and Marc Seul will address the German context and research landscape before our three guests will engage in a discussion about the conditions and challenges of antisemitism research. How can we face these challenges and change the conditions for the better?
